Then place sew-in craft interfacing onto wrong side of bag pieces. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0538.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3729 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0538-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0538" width="300" height="225" /></a> With right sides together, pin along the two long sides and bottom short side. Sew the pieces together with 1/2 &#8221; seam allowance. Clip corners close to stitching as shown above . <strong>Making Bag Bottom</strong> <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0539.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3730 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0539-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0539" width="300" height="225" /></a> Open up the bag and line up the two side seams so that they are sitting in the middle as above. Press one of the bottom corners so that the side is directly on top of the bottom seam and the corner forms a sharp point. Make sure the seam allowance of the side and bottom are facing in the same direction and lying flat. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0540.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3731 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0540-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0540" width="300" height="225" /></a> Mark a line perpendicular to the side seam at where the corner is 8cm wide as shown above. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0541.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3732 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0541-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0541" width="300" height="225" /></a> Sew along this marked line. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0542.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3733 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0542-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0542" width="300" height="225" /></a> Snip off the outside triangle of the corner . Repeat for the second bottom corner. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_05451.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3736 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_05451-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0545" width="300" height="225" /></a> Repeat this process for bag lining. <strong>Attaching Lace to Bag Edge</strong> <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0544.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3735 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0544-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0544" width="300" height="225" /></a> Turn back right side out . Press well. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0533.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3724 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0533-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0533" width="300" height="225" /></a> Cut 23&#8243;  length of lace trim . My trim was a little wide so I cut it in half lengthwise as I just wanted it to peep over bag edge. Sew the two ends together so as it will fit bag opening . Over lock side of seam to prevent fraying. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0534.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3725 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0534-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0534" width="300" height="225" /></a> Pin and then sew to bag edge. <strong>Inserting Magnetic Snap Closures into Lining</strong> <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0557.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3737 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0557-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0557" width="300" height="225" /></a> Press fabric onto canvas , folding under to the back to create a neat square. Find the centre of the 2 and 1/2 &#8221; square and mark this with a cross or dot . Centre the provided washer over the centre mark and draw in the two rectangular cutting lines. Using a seam ripper or scissors , carefully cut through fabric and canvas backing where the prongs will go through. Always make them a little smaller than the lines as the fabric will stretch to make room for them . <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0558.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3738 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0558-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0558" width="300" height="225" /></a> Push one of the magnetic snap halves through the right side of the fabric and canvas backing . Place the washer over the prongs and bend them outwards ,one at a time as shown. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0559.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3739 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0559-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0559" width="300" height="225" /></a>   Pin each square onto right side of lining 2&#8243; from top lining opening and in centre of lining front and back sides. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0560.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3741 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0560-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0560" width="300" height="225" /></a> With right sides together ,place bag body into lining  , lining up edges. Sew around bag opening 5/8&#8243; from edge , just under line of stitching where lace was sewn on . <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0562.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3743 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0562-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0562" width="300" height="225" /></a> Create opening in bottom of lining to pull bag through. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0563.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3744 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0563-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0563" width="300" height="225" /></a> Pull bag through opening .Press along  seam and bag body and lining. <strong>Attaching Bag Handles</strong> <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0565.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3746 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0565-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0565" width="300" height="225" /></a> Place pin at centre of bag front , 6cm from edge. Measure 7cm from pin each side to place each end of handle . Pin in place . <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0566.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3747 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0566-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0566" width="300" height="225" /></a> Using access through gap in bottom of lining , hand sew handles to bag front . I used all threads of embroidery skein . I sewed around twice to secure and backstitch at back of stitching. <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0570.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3751 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0570-300x225.jpg" alt="IMG_0570" width="300" height="225" /></a>Now stitch bottom of lining where you originally created gap in stitching. Push lining back into bag body . Press around edge of bag , taking care to cover bag handles with cloth to keep away from iron. Top stitch around bag edges . <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0569-e1432321385874.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3750 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_0569-e1432321385874-225x300.jpg" alt="IMG_0569" width="225" height="300" /></a> Wey hay !! Off you go with your new lace edged bag ! <a href="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/IMG_0343-e1431124179896.jpg"><img class=" size-medium wp-image-3514 aligncenter" src="http://stitched.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/IMG_0343-e1431124179896-225x300.jpg" alt="IMG_0343" width="225" height="300" /></a> P.s. .. You can also create variations <a href="http://stitched.ie/product/wool-bag-with-ribbon/">. This bag</a> was created from same pattern from Foxford  Woolen Mills throw , <a href="http://stitched.ie/product/floral-leather-look-bag-handles/">floral handles</a> and nice velvet ribbon tie. Happy sewing !</p>
